Donald Trump promises Christmas cash gift to millions of Americans in rambling speech that vows to ‘fix Biden’s mess’

Donald Trump has announced a major Christmas cash payment for millions of Americans during a televised address, promising to “fix Biden’s mess” as he reflected on his time in office.

Speaking live from the White House on Thursday evening, the President used the address to review his first 11 months in office, highlighting what he described as significant achievements and outlining plans aimed at easing financial pressure on Americans.

During the speech, Trump revealed that active-duty US military personnel would receive a $1,776 cash payment, which he referred to as a “warrior dividend.” According to Trump, the payments are already being processed and are expected to arrive within days, ahead of Christmas.

“Military service members will receive a special payment — we call it the Warrior Dividend — before Christmas, in honor of our nation’s founding in 1776,” Trump said.

The announcement is part of a broader set of targeted financial measures aimed at specific voter groups, as the President seeks to reverse a recent dip in polling numbers. Trump argued that additional cash support is urgently needed as many Americans continue to struggle with high living costs and inflation.

Throughout the speech, Trump repeatedly blamed former President Joe Biden for what he described as the country’s economic and social problems, citing rising immigration, stagnant wages, soaring pharmaceutical prices, and broader economic instability.

“Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I’m fixing it,” Trump said. “When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say in the history of our country. Prices were higher than ever, making life unaffordable for millions of Americans.”

While directing most of his criticism at Democrats, Trump also outlined proposed solutions, including dramatic reductions in prescription drug costs. He claimed his administration would lower drug prices by up to 600 percent, a move he said was made possible through aggressive trade tariffs.

“I’m doing what no politician of either party has ever done,” Trump told viewers. “I negotiated directly with drug companies and foreign nations that had been taking advantage of our country for decades to slash drug prices by 400, 500, even 600 percent.”

Trump added that the threat of tariffs forced other countries to absorb the cost reductions, claiming the policy had already begun to take effect days earlier.

With Americans spending an estimated $1,200 to $1,400 per year on prescription medication, Trump said the changes could result in substantial savings if fully implemented.

The announcements have already sparked debate, with critics questioning the feasibility of the proposed reductions and supporters welcoming the promise of immediate financial relief.
