IShowSpeed Faces $1 Million Lawsuit After Allegedly Assaulting and Permanently Damaging Humanoid Robot on Livestream

Popular streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr., widely known online as IShowSpeed, is facing a $1 million lawsuit following an incident involving a humanoid robot during a livestream in Austin, Texas.

The lawsuit was filed by Social Robotics, the creators of a viral humanoid robot known as “Jake the Rizzbot,” which was allegedly assaulted by the streamer while cameras were rolling. The entire incident was broadcast live to thousands of viewers.

Video footage shows IShowSpeed verbally confronting the robot before punching it, placing it in a chokehold, and forcefully pushing it onto a couch. According to the filing, the physical altercation caused severe and irreversible damage to the robot.

Social Robotics claims the robot was damaged without any form of consent and that the incident rendered it permanently non-functional. The company further alleges that the damage led to the cancellation of several high-profile appearances, including a planned collaboration with YouTube star MrBeast and a scheduled segment on a CBS NFL program.

In the lawsuit, Social Robotics argues that the robot represented a significant commercial and promotional asset, and that its destruction resulted in substantial financial losses, reputational harm, and missed business opportunities.

Police have reportedly confirmed that the robot was damaged without the owner’s implied consent. Authorities also noted that the livestream footage serves as direct evidence of the incident.

The case has sparked widespread debate online regarding the treatment of advanced robotics, liability during livestreams, and the legal boundaries of content creation involving physical technology.
